Application areas:
Alloys are resistant to various corrosive media. Better corrosion resistance in oxidizing conditions than pure nickel (alloy 200/201) due to its chromium content. At the same time, it contains a large amount of nickel, which makes the alloy have good corrosion resistance in reducing conditions and alkaline solutions. In addition, it has strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking. It has good corrosion resistance in organic acids such as acetic acid, formic acid and stearic acid, and has moderate corrosion resistance in inorganic acids. It has good corrosion resistance in high-purity water used in primary and secondary circulation in nuclear reactors. Resistant to dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride, up to 650°C.
At high temperature, the annealed state and solid solution state of the alloy have good oxidation spalling resistance and high strength in air, and can withstand high temperature of 1100 °C in a continuous air oxidation environment. In the reducing gas (H2 or CO) without thorium (ionium), it can withstand high temperature of 1150ºC. In the oxidizing gas containing thorium (ionium), such as the air containing sulfurous acid gas, it can be used up to 815ºC. However, in the reducing gas containing hydrogen sulfide, the upper limit temperature is 535°C. In addition, it will not embrittle in the high temperature environment of 550~750ºC. Resistant to nitrogen, hydrogen, ammonia and carburizing gases. Although it is weak to wet chlorine gas and bromine gas, it is very effective for the treatment of hydrogen chloride and chlorine gas at high temperature. However, when the redox conditions are alternated, it will be corroded by some oxidizing media (such as green dead liquid).
