1. Overview of Hastelloy W :

Hastelloy W is a nickel-based superalloy composed of nickel, molybdenum, chromium, cobalt and other elements, with a nickel content of about 60%.

2. Chemical composition of Hastelloy W: 

HastelloyW nitrogen alloyed stainless steel: N is added as an alloying element to stainless steel, which can improve the stability of austenite, balance the proportion of the phase in the dual-phase steel, and improve the strength and corrosion resistance of the steel without affecting the plasticity and toughness of the steel , and can partially replace Ni in stainless steel. In dual-phase steel, N delays the dispersion and precipitation of intermetallic compounds; in martensitic steel, N and other elements form nitrides and distribute on grain boundaries, which can improve the hardening ability and prevent austenite and ferrite during high temperature tempering. Growth of bulk grains. Austenitic stainless steel with high N content developed in recent years, namely high-strength non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel, has high-temperature strength and will be widely used as low-temperature superconducting material, high corrosion resistance and non-magnetic material.

Heat treatment methods and characteristics of HastelloyW Hastelloy:

1. Solid solution strengthening is an important form of metal strengthening, and it is a phenomenon that the strength and hardness of metals are improved by forming a solid solution. When the solute content is appropriate, the strength and hardness of the material can be significantly improved, while the plasticity and toughness are not significantly reduced, which is its greatest feature.

2. Aging enhancement is divided into artificial aging and natural aging. Natural aging strengthening is to strengthen the alloy during placement at room temperature; while artificial aging strengthening is to strengthen the alloy during low temperature heating. Both are based on the premise of solid solution strengthening, and both are aimed at improving the strength of the alloy.

3. Precipitation strengthening is based on aging strengthening, and the purpose is to strengthen the alloy. The addition of cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum and other elements makes the alloy obtain high yield strength.

4. Grain boundary strengthening occurs because the grain boundary of the alloy is a weak link at high temperature. Adding trace amounts of boron, zirconium and rare earth elements can improve the grain boundary strength.

5. Annealing: The annealed state is the basic state of the furnace. The essence is to transform high-speed steel from austenite to pearlite. The function is to reduce the surface hardness of high-speed steel and improve the plasticity to facilitate cold deformation processing such as cutting; make the composition of the steel uniform, improve the performance, and prepare for further heat treatment; eliminate stress to prevent deformation or cracking.

HastelloyW has high purity, fine tissue and extremely low oxygen content. HastelloyW has no pores, trachoma, porosity, and has excellent electrical conductivity. The copper alloy on the surface of the mold has high precision. After heat treatment, the electrode has no directionality. Affordable, it is the first choice to replace imported copper.
