Product Description

GH40 overview:

GH40 is a Fe-Ni-Cr-based solid solution strengthening deformed superalloy, which is solid solution strengthened and stabilized by elements such as chromium and molybdenum to stabilize the austenite matrix. The alloy has high thermal strength index below 700ºC. It has high instantaneous strength at 900ºC-1000ºC. The alloy has good heat resistance and corrosion resistance, good microstructure stability, good hot working plasticity, welding and cold forming process performance. After the alloy is strengthened by warm working, the strength of the alloy can be significantly improved. The main products are cakes, forgings, seamless pipes, plates, strips and wires.

GH40 application overview and features:

The GH1040 alloy has been used to make welded rotors, shafts and fasteners for gas turbines, as well as short-duration rocket engine components. After the alloy is strengthened by warm working, it can be used to make turbine disks working below 650 °C.

The alloy is a carbide-strengthened material, the carbides between the as-cast dendrites are not easily broken during forging, and a relatively obvious dendritic structure will remain on the disc forgings.
