Product Description

Nimonic90 is an age-strengthened cobalt-nickel-based wrought superalloy containing a relatively high amount of cobalt and various strengthening elements.

Name in countries:

United States: UNS No7090
UK: Nimonic90
China: GH90

Characteristic:

The alloy is an aging-strengthened cobalt-nickel-based deformed superalloy.

The alloy has high tensile strength and creep resistance at 815 to 870 °C, good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, and has relatively good performance under the repeated alternating action of cold and heat.

High fatigue strength and good formability and weldability. Used in turbine engine turbine disks, blades, high temperature fasteners, clamps, sealing rings and elastic elements, etc.

Metallographic structure
The main strengthening phase of the alloy is γ'-Ni3 (Ti, Al), which is precipitated in the grain as square particles of different sizes, and the γ' phase of this shape can also be seen on the grain boundary. Discontinuous chain-like precipitation.

Process requirements

1. The alloy is prone to internal cracks during forging, allowing heavy hammer blows. The ingot loading temperature is not higher than 700ºC, the low temperature area is preheated for 20-30 minutes, the final heating temperature is 1150ºC-1180ºC, the opening forging temperature is not lower than 1050ºC, and the final forging temperature is not lower than 950ºC.

2. The average grain size of the alloy is closely related to the deformation degree of the forging and the final forging temperature.

3. The alloy can be used for inert gas shielded tungsten arc welding and flash butt welding in the solid solution state.
