Overview of Incoloy901
Incoloy901 is a Fe-Ni-Cr-based precipitation hardening deformed superalloy. The alloy has high yield strength and lasting strength below 650°C, good oxidation resistance below 760°C, and stable structure for long-term use. The main products are turbine discs, compressor discs, journals, static structural parts, turbine outer rings and fasteners.
Application overview and special requirements
Alloys are used in rotating parts and fasteners of aero-engines and ground gas turbines, and have a long service life.
The alloy has a coefficient of expansion close to that of a ferritic heat-strength alloy steel, allowing the two materials to be joined without special provisions for thermal expansion.

2. GH901 physical and chemical properties
2.1, GH901 thermal performance
2.1.1. Melting temperature range of GH901 Melting point is 1360ºC
The alloy is prone to pitting corrosion in hydrochloric acid solution.
1. Craftsmanship
The alloy has good hot forming properties.
3.1. Forging
Larger ingots are not allowed to be cooled directly to room temperature, but should be hot handled and moved directly into the forging furnace to prevent passing through the aging temperature range during cooling and reheating. The ingot should be forged into a square billet with a maximum side length of 205mm, and then quickly cooled and trimmed. During forging, the process parameters should be strictly controlled to prevent serious unevenness of coarse and fine grains (there is a clear boundary between the two) to ensure stable performance.
3.2 Welding performance
Argon arc welding can be carried out, using GH901 alloy welding wire.
3.3 Heat treatment process of parts
The heat treatment of the engine turbine disk should avoid excessive heating.
