According to the different components in the alloy, they can be made into welding wire, powder used for hard surface surfacing, thermal spraying, spray welding and other processes, and can also be made into castings and forgings and powder metallurgy parts.

Unlike other superalloys, cobalt-based superalloys are not strengthened by ordered precipitates that are firmly bonded to the matrix, but are composed of an austenitic fcc matrix that has been solid solution strengthened and a small amount of carbides distributed in the matrix. Cast cobalt-based superalloys rely heavily on carbide strengthening. Pure cobalt crystals have a hexagonal close-packed (hcp) crystal structure below 417 °C and transform to fcc at higher temperatures. To avoid this transformation of cobalt-based superalloys when they are used, virtually all cobalt-based superalloys are alloyed with nickel to stabilize the structure in the room temperature to melting temperature range. Cobalt-based superalloys have a flat fracture stress-temperature relationship, but show superior hot corrosion resistance above 1000°C compared to other high temperatures, probably due to the high chromium content of this alloy, which is a characteristic of this class of alloys a feature of .

GH605 process performance and requirements:

1. The alloy has satisfactory cold and hot forming properties. The hot working temperature ranges from 1200 to 980 °C. The forging temperature should be high enough to reduce grain boundary carbides and low enough to control the grain size. The suitable forging temperature is about 1170°C.

2. The average grain size of the alloy is closely related to the deformation degree and final forging temperature of the forging.

3. The alloy can be connected by methods such as solution welding, resistance welding and fiber welding.

4. Alloy solution treatment: 1230ºC for forgings and bars, water cooling.
