1. Overview of Hastelloy S:
Hastelloy S is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, molybdenum, chromium, cobalt and other elements, with a nickel content of about 62%. Hastelloy S is a high-calorie, nickel-based alloy with excellent thermal stability and high thermo-mechanical properties, while resisting oxidation up to 2000°F (1093°C). With simple heat treatment, Hastelloy S will exhibit high heat and thermal fatigue strength. Hastelloy S has excellent thermal stability, low thermal expansion, excellent oxidation resistance at 1093°C, good high temperature and thermal fatigue strength. Applications include gas turbine engine seals that maintain strength, plasticity and integrity under severe periodic heating conditions.
