GH907 alloy overview

GH907 alloy is a low-expansion superalloy based on Fe-Co-Ni.

It is comprehensively strengthened with Nb, Ti, Si and trace B. It has high strength, low expansion coefficient, good thermal fatigue performance and high temperature below 650ºC.

Almost constant elastic modulus. Low-expansion superalloy is a new type of structural material developed by relying on "Invar effect" and "aging strengthening".

With its low expansion coefficient, the clearance control of aero-engines can be realized, and it is especially suitable for manufacturing various types of aero-engine rings. piece.

GH907 Chemical Composition

Heat treatment system There are two heat treatment systems for the alloy

System A; 1040 (' soil l5 (', 1h, air-cooled or quick-dry 800C±15C.l6h, furnace-cooled to 620C±15C.8h at a speed of 55C/h, air-cooled.

System B: 980C=15C, 1h, air cooling or fast cooling +775C±15(', 12h, furnace cooling to 620C ± 15C 8h at a speed of 55C/h, air cooling.

GH907 alloy characteristics introduction

Incoloy907 is developed on the basis of Incoloy903 by appropriately reducing the Al content (generally controlling Al≤0.1wt%) and increasing the Nb content.

This alloy significantly improves notch durability while maintaining good ductility and a low coefficient of expansion, but with a slight reduction in instantaneous strength.

There are γ'-NigAl phase, Niz (TiAl)], ζ phase (Fe, Ni, Co); (Nb, Ti) and a small amount of Laves phase (Fe2Nb) in the alloy structure, which has a more complex structure.

The z-phase is mainly distributed at the grain boundary, which hinders the grain boundary slip and effectively improves the notch lasting strength.

The Laves phase content is very small and has little effect on performance.

The alloy can obtain good comprehensive properties mainly through the proper coordination of γ' phase and Z phase.

When studying the same type of alloys in my country, it was found that the Si content and thermal process parameters are very sensitive to the properties of the alloy.

Controlling the Si content at about 0.25wt% can achieve better lasting properties.
