GH4500 is a Ni-Cr-Co-based precipitation hardening deformed superalloy, the service temperature is less than 870ºC. Short-term use up to 980 ºC. Aluminum and titanium elements are added to the alloy to form a γ' precipitation strengthening phase, and cobalt, chromium and molybdenum elements are added for solid solution strengthening. The alloy has good high temperature strength, oxidation resistance and thermal corrosion resistance, and is suitable for making turbine rotating parts and bearing parts of gas turbine engines, as well as forged or cast gas turbine blades. The main products are bars and forgings. , plate, wire and precision castings, etc.
GH4500 superalloy has been used to make parts such as aero-engine I, II turbine discs, free turbine discs, labyrinth shafts and grate seal rings. Turbine blades with operating temperatures below 750°C, and gas turbine blades.
GH4500 superalloy is welded by argon arc welding. Using this alloy welding wire, the welding seam strength after heat treatment is lower than that of the base material. In order to improve the corrosion resistance of turbine blades, the surface of the parts can be protected by Al infiltration, and the alloy is exposed to high temperature for a long time. After aging or high temperature stress aging, a small amount of σ phase is precipitated.
